FROM OUR SOCIAL JUSTICE LEADERS
This Saturday, the 15th August, the Catholic Church celebrates the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. At the end of her earthly life, Mary was taken body and soul into heavenly glory by God. This special grace reflects her close union with Jesus and anticipates the resurrection promised to all who follow him.
Mary’s Assumption is a message of hope: it reminds us that God calls every person to share in the fullness of life with him.
Hail, Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
