What’s on in the Hub?

Luminous Festival

Playgroup and School families were invited to take part in the Luminous Festival at the Queen Victoria Market. A total of 27 adults and children participated in the lantern parade, showcasing lanterns they had crafted during a workshop. Organised by AMES Australia, a migrant and refugee settlement agency, in partnership with the City of Melbourne, the event aimed to bring communities together, celebrate cultural diversity, and foster meaningful connections among participants.

Book Week at Playgroup

Last week we celebrated book week at playgroup.  Families were very excited to dress up as their favourite story book characters including Miss Debbie who looked very different with black hair!

Women’s Health Week

We also celebrated Women’s Health Week at Playgroup with important health information shared with participants.  We also had a visit from Jean Haile’s for Women’s Health.

Parent Child Mother Goose

Every Monday until the end of the year (during the school term), St Anthony’s will be delivering a program called Parent Child Mother Goose. This Program is for preschool children. The group meets with two facilitators (including Debbie). Together, parents and children in the program:

  • experience the spark of delight and magic that comes from enjoying a favourite song or rhyme
  • learn rhymes, songs and stories
  • enjoy strengthened bonding.

If you have a preschooler and would like to come to the Parent Child Mother Goose Program it is on every Monday morning 10am-11am at St Anthony’s School Playgroup during the school terms.

This is a free program and finishes with morning tea.
