Coming Up at FWPS

Reconciliation Week 2026
27th May - 3rd June (Term 2, Wednesday Week 6 - Wednesday Week 7)
2026 Theme: All In
National Reconciliation Week is coming up in Weeks 6 and 7 and we will be celebrating this important week across all classrooms at FWPS. Reconciliation Week is dedicated to building positive, respectful relationships between all Australians. It is a chance to reflect on how we can work towards building respectful and inclusive relationships, ensuring everyone belongs at FWPS and in our wider community. It also provides an opportunity to acknowledge the past and take steps towards healing and reconciliation.
The 2026 theme “All In” serves as a powerful call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day. Reconciliation is not a passive activity and should not only be discussed during National Reconciliation Week. It is an active, daily responsibility of all Australians.
The Marrung Student Representatives have been talking about reconciliation and the importance of National Reconciliation Week in their meetings. In classrooms, students and teachers will be participating in Reconciliation Week Classroom Bingo. With teacher guidance, students will be exploring a range of reconciliation based activities, with the intention of broadening their understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, culture and perspectives.
