Enrichment Program

We have officially launched BEEP! 

BEEP is our brand new Brilliance, Excellence & Enrichment Program designed and run by Learning Specialists Lauren Clark and Jayden Dukes. The program was outlined in our last newsletter but the information is below if you'd like to know more about it.

 

Enrichment: Lauren has begun working with selected students in Years 2 and 4, focusing on extended them in multiplication.

 

Excellence: Jayden has begun working with selected students in Years 5 and 6, focusing on higher order thinking and problem solving in literacy an numeracy.

 

 

In case you missed it:

Enrichment: Launching with a numeracy focus, this weekly extension session is designed to challenge and extend students' mathematical understanding, problem-solving skills and a passion for learning. We will be working with students in Years 2 and 4 throughout Term 3 this year. Students are selected based on assessment data and families will be informed of their child's selection prior to the program commencing.

 

Excellence: The program provides selected Years 5 and 6 students with opportunities to extend their thinking through rich and engaging learning experiences. Rather than completing more work, students will be challenged to think more deeply, solve complex problems and explore big ideas.

  • In the Literacy Inquiry, students will investigate quality texts through discussion, critical thinking and analytical writing. 
  • In the Mathematical Inquiry, students will tackle rich investigations using the Australian reSolve program, developing their reasoning, problem-solving and mathematical communication skills.

Students will attend one session every fortnight and complete extension tasks between sessions, building a portfolio of their learning throughout the semester.

 

The Brilliance, Excellence & Enrichment Program reflects Wollert Primary School’s commitment to providing learning opportunities that support students to reach their goals.
