NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK
In the Agriculture department, we are celebrating spring early. We have just welcomed 6 new baby kids this week, despite the cool weather. Our three goats, Trish, Toni and Millie, have all given birth to kids, six in total.
We have one set of brown triplets (the 3rd year that "Trish" has had triplets!), a set of black and pied twins and a little white single kid. Pebbles is our remaining pregnant doe, but I suspect she is very close to increasing the herd.
The goats are not as maternal as some other animals, like, for example, the alpacas. But the little kids are all coping well and becoming independent very quickly. Classes will be able to cuddle the little additions once they are about a week old and have bonded strongly with their mums. The mums are very comfortable with students, so they are comfortable with us cuddling their little ones.
PRODUCTION ANNOUNCEMENT
Coming in May 2027, Bayside Christian College students will present the Musical ANNIE!
Audition information has been sent out to all students who will be in years 5-12 next year to arrange their audition in weeks 8 and 9 this term!
We encourage all students who are interested to come and ‘give it a go’! All roles are valued, and you will learn some amazing skills and meet a range of other students in a positive and fun environment.
An information session for those who are unsure what to expect from the audition process will take place during lunchtime on Friday the 28th of August in G7 (the Primary Performing Arts classroom).

While auditions can be daunting, we encourage all students to be brave and just give it a try. We can’t wait to see Bayside students shine once more!
Drum Teacher Announcement
Calling all drum enthusiasts! In Term 4, Bayside will have a new drum teacher starting at the College. If your child is interested in learning the drums, please submit your expression of interest form on the school website. CAMP AUSTRALIA
Out of School Hours Care Update
We’ve recently worked with Camp Australia to expand our Before School Care (BSC) offering. Starting Tuesday, 1 September, BSC will open 15 minutes earlier:
- Previous Hours: 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM
- New Hours: 6:45 AM – 9:00 AM (Starting Sept 1)
We hope this extra time is a support for families, giving them greater flexibility and the ability to access the service earlier in the morning as needed.
Camp Australia has been a trusted part of our school community for years, and between the highly-regarded service leader and the recent move into the refurbished I Block, the program is in a fantastic spot to support our students.
