100 Days of Prep
On Friday, 31st July, our Prep students celebrated 100 Days of School! It was wonderful to see everyone embrace the occasion, with students doing a fantastic job dressing up for the special day.
Throughout the day, we enjoyed a range of fun activities centred around the number 100. Students practised counting to 100 several times and took part in engaging classroom activities that celebrated their first 100 days of school.
To finish the day, we welcomed our Prep families into the classroom to share in the celebration. Students proudly showcased their learning and reflected on the incredible growth they have made. The celebration concluded with the Prep students performing a special song before each child was presented with a certificate to recognise this wonderful achievement.
We are so proud of all our Prep students and look forward to many more exciting learning milestones throughout the year!
All About Money
Our Year 1/2 students have been learning all about money! They have been developing their money skills by learning to sort, count and order coins and notes. The classroom soon became a bustling marketplace as students opened their own shops and took on the roles of buyers and sellers.
There was something for everyone! The Beanie Boo Shop was certainly a luxury store. It was very expensive! The Ooshie Shop was the busiest shop of them all, with long queues and an amazing total of more than $100 earned. The Cupcake Shop, Lego Shop, Car Shop, and Art and Craft Shop were also exciting places to visit.
Through this hands-on experience, students learnt how to count their money, work out the cost of their purchases and keep track of their spending. They also practised important skills such as making choices, communicating, and solving problems.
Our learning connected beautifully with the biblical narrative of The Parable of the Talents. Jesus taught that we should be responsible and wise with what we have been given. Our students have been learning that money is a resource to be managed wisely and responsibly.
What a wonderful way to bring our learning to life, and what a lot of fun along the way!
Jogging Club - you little ripper!!!
Looking for a great way to start the day or get active at lunchtime? Why not join our Bayside Jogging Club! Jogging Club continues to be a fantastic opportunity for students to improve their fitness, challenge themselves, spend time with friends and enjoy being active in a fun and supportive environment.
Jogging Club runs twice each week:
- Monday Lunchtimes: 12:50pm – 1:12pm
Friday Mornings: 8:15am – 8:45am
Students can walk, jog or run at their own pace, with every lap counting towards our Jogging Club milestone certificates: 10 Laps, 25 Laps, 50 Laps, 100 Laps, etc.
A reminder that parents, carers and family members are warmly invited to join us on Friday mornings. It is always great to see families being active together and supporting our students as they work towards their personal goals.
Whether students are aiming to improve their fitness, train for Cross Country, challenge a friend, or simply enjoy some fresh air and movement, Jogging Club is for everyone.
So, bring your runners, bring your energy, and come along for some fun, fitness and a few extra laps! See you at Jogging Club!
NED's Resiliency Ride
On Friday, the 7th of August, the Primary students had a visit from Johnny and NED, who presented NED's Resiliency Ride. Johnny had some impressive yo-yo skills and tricks as he talked to the students about Never giving up, Encouraging others, and Doing your best. The cost of the presentation was covered by the previous school, and Bayside has raised funds for the next school presentation by selling yo-yos, so thank you to all who have purchased yo-yos! Celebrating God’s Goodness 🌿
This week, Year 3/4 students explored God’s goodness and the unique way He has made each of us. They reflected on biblical truths about identity and wrote personal “I Am” statements, reminding themselves that they are wonderfully made, deeply loved, chosen, and created with purpose (Psalm 139:14; Ephesians 2:10; 1 Peter 2:9).
It was a beautiful lesson about knowing our identity in Christ, celebrating our uniqueness, and learning to celebrate the gifts and strengths of others. We were reminded: “Rejoice with those who rejoice” Romans 12:15 and “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” James 1:17
