Welcoming Our New Bishop

Bishop Rene Ramirez RCJ

We were delighted to receive some very special news over the holidays, with the Sandhurst Diocese announcing the appointment of our ninth bishop, Bishop René Ramirez.

We warmly welcome Bishop Ramirez to our diocesan community and look forward to his leadership, guidance, and the important work he will undertake across our schools and parishes.  His presence marks an exciting new chapter for Sandhurst.

A big thank you to all our students and their families for your generous support of Caritas Australia throughout the year. Your contributions have made a meaningful difference in supporting communities in need.

Through our school initiatives, we raised:

  • Pancake Day          $300.55
  • Solidarity Walk     $214.35
  • Donation Boxes    $600.55
  • Caritas Cans             $75.00

             Total raised:     $1,190.45

This wonderful effort reflects our commitment to living out the values of Catholic Social Teaching, particularly the call to care for the poor and vulnerable.  It is also a beautiful expression of our school charism of Faith and Courage, as our community comes together in compassion, generosity, and action.

Thank you for making a difference and for continuing to “Seek Peace and Pursue It” through your kindness and support of others.

Special Feast day Event

Andrew Chinn Concert - Friday, 15th May

This year, we are excited to welcome Andrew Chinn back to our school for a very special Feast Day celebration.

Our students love singing his songs at Masses, Liturgies, and Assemblies, and we are all looking forward to sharing this joyful experience together once again. Andrew’s music brings energy, faith, and a strong sense of community to our gatherings.

Families are warmly invited to join us and watch Andrew and our students in action on Friday 15th May, from 1:40pm – 2:40pm in the Notre Dame Sacred Heart Hall.

We hope you can come along and be part of this wonderful celebration!

Catholic Education Week - 4th to 8th May

‘Seek Peace and Pursue it’

Sandhurst Switches Off

On Wednesday, 6th May, our school community will join with others across the Sandhurst Diocese in a shared commitment to care for our common home.

As part of Sandhurst Switches Off, we will “Seek Peace and Pursue It” with Mother Earth by switching off electricity for one hour across the school from 2:15pm – 3:15pm.

This simple but powerful action reminds us of our responsibility to care for creation, as stewards of God’s world. It connects strongly to Catholic Social Teaching and Pope Francis’ call in Laudato Si’ to protect our environment and live more sustainably.

We look forward to this meaningful opportunity to come together in awareness, reflection, and action for our planet.

Building a Chain of Peace

Catholic Education Week

As part of our celebrations for Catholic Education Week in Sandhurst, our school community will come together in a special whole-school activity next Friday.

Students and teachers will each create a link in a Paper Peace Chain, symbolising our shared commitment to “Seek Peace and Pursue It.” These individual links will be joined to form one powerful chain, representing unity, hope, and the strength of our community when we work together for peace.

We are excited to bring this to life on our school oval, where we hope to capture a drone photo of our entire school forming this meaningful symbol of peace.

Importantly, all students will be part of this experience, including our Year 1 students, who will be on excursion that day. They will still contribute to the peace-making activity, ensuring every member of our community is connected in this shared message.

We look forward to celebrating this special moment together as we live out our faith through action, promoting peace in our school and beyond.

TERM 2 YOUTH MASS

& PARISH RECONCILIATION WEEK MASS

Youth Mass – All Welcome

We warmly invite all students and families to join us for our Term 2 Youth Mass on Saturday, 23rd May from 6:00pm-7:00pm at St Brendan’s Church.

This Mass will have a special focus on Reconciliation Week, as we come together in prayer, reflection, and respect for our First Nations peoples. Our student choir will lead the congregation in song and prayer, helping to create a meaningful and inclusive celebration.

If you and your children would like to attend and actively participate, we would love to see you there.

Let us gather as a community to celebrate our faith and

continue our journey of reconciliation together.

Sacramental Students

We keep our 2026 Sacramental students in our prayers as they begin their sacred journey of faith through the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

May this special time be one of reflection, growth, and understanding of God’s love and mercy. We pray that our students feel supported by their families, teachers, and parish community as they take this important step in their faith journey.
