Choosing a School for 2027 – Foundation Applications Now Open

At this time of year, many families are making important decisions about their child’s education, whether selecting a secondary school or preparing for the exciting start of Foundation in 2027.

Choosing the right school is a personal decision, and visiting schools remains one of the best ways to find the right fit. Exploring learning spaces, meeting staff and students, and experiencing the school environment first hand can make a significant difference.

Foundation enrolments for 2027 opened at the beginning of Term 2. We warmly invite families to explore Park Ridge Primary School through our website or by booking an in-person one-on-one tour.

Mrs Chalmers, Mr Garvey and I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting prospective families and sharing what makes our school such a special place to learn and grow. To book a tour, please visit our website or contact our office on 9752 8555.

If you know a family currently exploring primary school options, we encourage you to share our details. We always appreciate the opportunity to connect with new families.

ANZAC Day at Park Ridge

On April 24, we paused as a school community to honour those who have served our country.

Our Year 6 students led this year’s commemorations with maturity and respect, supporting younger students to understand the significance of ANZAC Day and delivering a thoughtful whole-school assembly. I thank our Year 6 team, Mrs Docherty, Miss Booth and Mrs Herridge, and all the Year 6 student for ensuring such a meaningful occasion as well as planning and presenting ANZAC lessons across our school to ensure the ANZAC message remains strong for future generations.

Smart Watches and Mobile Phones at School

To support a focused learning environment, Park Ridge follows the Department of Education’s mobile phone policy:

  • Phones must be signed in at the office each morning and collected at the end of the day.

  • Devices must remain switched off and securely stored during school hours.

We ask that smartwatches have notifications turned off and are not used for communication during the school day. Families are reminded that the school office remains the appropriate point of contact if you need to reach your child.

Looking ahead, families should note that from 2027, wearable smart devices will not be permitted for student use during school hours. Further information will be shared closer to this time.

We appreciate your support in maintaining a calm and focused learning environment.

Child Safe Standards – Our Commitment

Student safety remains our highest priority. This term, we will continue to share information about the Child Safe Standards through the newsletter, helping families understand how we keep students safe and how you can contribute.

Families are welcome to be involved through our School Council Education Sub-Committee. Please contact the office if you are interested. As always, any concerns can be raised with a member of our leadership team.

Thank You for Your Support

Thank you to all families who have contributed through parent payments and voluntary contributions. Your support makes a meaningful difference to the opportunities and resources we provide.

Raising Concerns – Working Together

When challenges arise, working in partnership ensures the best outcomes for our students. If your child shares a concern, we ask that you first contact their classroom teacher.

If further support is required, our leadership team is always available. We kindly ask families to avoid approaching others directly regarding playground matters, as this can sometimes escalate situations.

Thank you for your continued support in fostering the respectful and supportive culture we value at Park Ridge.

Please feel free to pop in for a chat with either Carrie, Brendan or I, should you wish to discuss anything.

Our doors are always open!

Take care,
