Welcome to the College Resource Library!

TERM 3 WRAP UP

It has been a busy and exciting term 3 at the College Resource Library!

We were thrilled to host a variety of engaging student programs and library activities, such as our popular lunchtime clubs, the Star Reader initiative, and the dedicated work of our library monitors. A highlight of the term was undoubtedly our Book Week "BOOKTACULAR" event, held from Monday 26 to Friday 30 August which brought the joy of reading to life with vibrant displays, author visits, and interactive sessions.

We also celebrated Science Week with fascinating exhibits and book selections, immersed ourselves in the excitement and passion of the 2024 Paris Olympics, and supported the MS Readathon to raise awareness and funds for a great cause.

As we wrap up Term 3, we want to express our gratitude to all parents, staff, and students for your enthusiasm and participation. Your engagement has made these events truly memorable and successful. With the warm weather on the horizon, we look forward to seeing everyone again in Term 4 for more enriching experiences and new opportunities. Thank you for making our college community a vibrant and inspiring place to learn and grow.

“SPONSOR A BOOK” COLLEGE BOOK DRIVE

During BOOKTACULAR Book Week, the Resource Library hosted their second College Book Drive throughout the week (back by popular demand)! This activity involves a selection of books, purchased by the library, and allows students to select their favourite text. The book is then labelled with the student’s name and gets processed into the library. This initiative developed by library staff aims to encourage student ownership and involvement across P-12, where individuals can recognise their impact within the college library and feel an increased level of responsibility for our resources.

Students are able to recognise the Book Drive books in the library via a “Booktacular” sticker placed on the front cover. This includes all Book Drive books since this initiative started in 2021. Term 4 will see approximately 800 new books enter library circulation, thanks to the College Book Drive - BOOKTACULAR 2024.

A special mention to all the fabulous authors and illustrators that made the journey to our college for Book Week from all over Victoria and beyond. We are very grateful.

TERM 3 STAR READERS

The Star Reader Award Program pays recognition to students each term, who display outstanding commitment to their reading. The College Library staff have selected two winners for Term 3, Lucy W - Prep C and Chase B - 2C, for their dedication to borrowing throughout the term. They both have demonstrated such enthusiasm when selecting books and displayed the utmost respect to the library space this term. Well done!

Many thanks,
