Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day was commemorated with a liturgy and the observance of a minute’s silence. It is a significant event in Australian and world history. At 11 am on 11 November 1918, the guns on the Western Front fell silent after more than four years of continuous warfare. The Allied armies had driven the German invaders back, having inflicted heavy defeats upon them over the preceding four months. In November, the Germans called for an armistice (a suspension of hostilities) to secure a peace settlement. They accepted the Allied terms, which amounted to unconditional surrender.

Thank you to Scott Blencowe and his team for all their work in preparing this moving and thoughtful liturgy.

Once again, thank you to Di Malloy and her team for all the work they have done to ensure that this has been a very well-organised exam process.
