Wildlife Incursion Highlights
The children from our three-year-old kindergarten recently enjoyed an exciting hands-on wildlife incursion after exploring reptiles through play. They were thrilled to meet a range of real animals, including bearded dragons, lizards, snakes, frogs, a sugar glider, a scorpion, and a long-neck turtle.
Guided by Ryan from The Lizard Wizard, the children learned fascinating facts about each animal’s features, behaviours, and habitats. They practised making choices about how to engage—whether gently touching, holding, or simply observing—while also learning about safety and respectful care of living creatures.
A highlight for many was holding frogs and meeting Leo the turtle, while others loved the snakes and the quiet encounter with Mordy the sugar glider. Afterwards, we reflected together over lunch by looking at photos and sharing favourite moments.
It was a memorable experience that supported curiosity, built confidence, and encouraged thoughtful discussions about animals and how we care for them.
