Principal's Report

Term 2
As we approach the midpoint of Term 2, it has been wonderful to see students continuing to embrace the many opportunities available across our school. The term has already been filled with rich learning experiences, opportunities to build connections, and memorable moments that reflect the enthusiasm and resilience of our students.
A particular highlight has been the recent Year 7/8 Camp. It was a privilege to spend time with students as they challenged themselves, supported one another, and stepped outside their comfort zones. From activities such as damper making and the possum glider through to the many shared experiences throughout the camp, students demonstrated teamwork, perseverance and a willingness to have a go, creating memories that will stay with them for years to come.
We have also recently completed school photos across both campuses. These annual photos provide a wonderful snapshot of our school community and mark another important milestone in the school year.
Thank you for your continued support of Concord School. The strong partnership between families and staff plays a vital role in helping our students thrive, and we look forward to all that the remainder of the term has in store.
Recent Highlights
Last week, we celebrated Education Week, with this year’s theme being “Showcase Your School.” It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to share their pride in Concord School and highlight the engaging learning experiences they participate in each and every day. During our Open Morning, classrooms were filled with opportunities for students to demonstrate their skills, achievements, and growth, reflecting the vibrant learning community we are proud to be part of.
On Friday 15th May, our Lower Primary students hosted a special Mother’s and Special Person’s Afternoon. This event provided an opportunity to celebrate the mothers, carers, family members, and other special people who play such an important role in our students’ lives. Students enjoyed sharing activities, spending quality time together, and creating lasting memories with their guests.
A big thank you to all family members and special guests who were able to attend these events. Your involvement and support mean so much to our students, and it was wonderful to see them proudly sharing their learning and celebrating alongside their families, friends, teachers, and peers.
National Reconciliation Week
From 27th May to 3rd June, Concord School will recognise National Reconciliation Week, a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures and achievements, and to reflect on how each of us can contribute to reconciliation in Australia.
The 2026 theme, All In, is a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every day. It reminds us that reconciliation is a shared responsibility and that meaningful change happens when we all take an active role in listening, learning, understanding and taking action.
Throughout the week, students will participate in a range of learning experiences designed to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, deepen their understanding of First Nations histories and perspectives, and strengthen their appreciation of the rich cultural heritage of Australia.
National Reconciliation Week provides an important opportunity for our school community to come together in the spirit of respect, understanding and inclusion, while continuing our commitment to building strong relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.
