Welcome back to Term 2, we hope you had a relaxing holiday break.
Last week saw us hosting the Grade 5 and 6 students from Morwell Park, Morwell Central and Sacred Heart Primary Schools for our Awareness Day. On this day the students got to experience what a day at secondary school is like. These students participated in a range of classes including Woodwork where they made a toolbox, Science where they completed six different experiments and English where they created Spoonerisms. We look forward to welcoming these students to our school in the years to come.
As the dawn broke in Port Albert on ANZAC Day, students from our 424SQN Air Force Cadets participated in the early morning service, showing respect and dedication to those who have sacrificed for so many.
Throughout the day, the cadets and student leaders from across the college went on to attend services in Morwell, Churchill and Yinnar to lay wreaths while reflecting on the gravity and significance of the day.
Caitlyn Patton represented our school with great honour and pride, participating actively in the community at Morwell.
As the weather is turning cooler, just a reminder of the school uniform. Students can wear plain white or navy-blue long sleeves under uniform shirts, navy blue shorts or tracksuit pants, school jumper or puffer jacket. Leggings are only permitted if they are the Kurnai ones purchased from Lowes (not yet available). Where families are experiencing hardship in obtaining the necessary items, they should contact their relevant Team Leader for assistance. We have avenues that we can access to provide that support in many cases. Please remember that the College accepts both the old uniform and the new one – there is no expectation to get rid of the old uniform items. Other varieties of colours and styles that do not meet our uniform requirements are being challenged by Team Leaders and students will be asked to change.
