During the last few weeks, students across the school have participated in activities acknowledging NAIDOC Week and Reconciliation Week.
Students in Prep learned a poem called Inanay. The poem is about community, Country, a goanna and a baby. Students then created artistic responses to the poem.
In Years 5 and 6, students learned about Aboriginal soccer players. They explored the history of the first Aboriginal Socceroo player, Harry Williams, who played for Australia in the 1974 World Cup. Harry helped Australia earn their first-ever World Cup point!
Students in other year levels played Indigenous games, learned about the significance of Sorry Day, and thought about ways to care for the Country on which we live, Bunurong Country.
