R U OK Day

Thursday 11 September is National R U OK Day.

At our college, we will be supporting R U OK Day by having a FREE DRESS DAY with staff and all students (including Plenty Kids groups) encouraged to wear yellow and black on that day to represent our care for each other.  There will also be some fun activities and games at recess and lunchtime that students will be encouraged to join. Primary students will have some age-appropriate special activities in class, while secondary students will be offered a pancake breakfast in the amphitheatre. This is a student-driven event that we can all get behind!

Celebrating Innovation in Teaching:

Mr Clarence Goh Named Finalist at National Teacher Innovation Awards

Plenty Valley Christian College is proud to celebrate the achievements of our very own Mr Clarence Goh, who was recently named a finalist at the National Education Summit Teacher Awards 2025 (Innovation in Teaching). This recognition highlights his ongoing dedication to pioneering new approaches in the classroom and his passion for preparing students for a rapidly changing digital future.

Being recognised on this platform is a significant milestone for Mr Goh and for PVCC, as it reflects the school’s commitment to forward-thinking and Christ-centred teaching.

Inspiring Presentation

As part of the event, Mr Goh was invited to present on his innovative work in Artificial Intelligence for Teaching and Learning. His presentation explored practical ways AI can be integrated into the classroom to support student engagement, streamline teacher workload, and build future-ready skills. Using real examples from his own classes, including object recognition projects and hands-on cybersecurity labs—he demonstrated how students at PVCC are being equipped to think critically, act ethically, and apply their knowledge in meaningful, real-world contexts.

The presentation was warmly received by 300 educators, leaders, and innovators from across the country, all united in their vision of transforming education through creativity and technology, sparking thoughtful discussion among attendees and affirming the importance of teachers leading by example in the responsible use of technology.

A Reflection of PVCC’s Vision

Mr Goh’s recognition as a finalist not only honours his personal dedication but also reflects the values and vision of PVCC: to nurture curious, capable learners who will serve and innovate with integrity. The school community celebrates this achievement and looks forward to the continued impact of his teaching on both students and colleagues.

Thank You to Our Amazing Parent Volunteers!

What a week it’s been—and what a blessing to have such a generous and supportive parent community here at Plenty Valley Christian College!

We often say “it takes a village to raise a child,” and this week was a beautiful example of that in action. From helping our Preppies whip up delicious scones for Grandparents’ Day, to crafting creative Book Week costumes and cheering them on at the parades, to lending a hand at our Father’s Day stall—your time, energy, and enthusiasm have made a huge difference.

Your willingness to jump in, whether behind the scenes or front and centre, helps create the warm, vibrant community we’re so proud of. We’re incredibly grateful for everything you do to support our students, staff, and each other.

Thank you for being part of the PVCC Community. We couldn’t do it without you!

Honouring Fathers in Our Community

As we wrap up a busy week at PVCC, we pause to honour and celebrate the fathers in our community. Fatherhood is a sacred role, designed by God as part of His beautiful intention for families. It is a calling that carries great responsibility, love, and strength.

We recognise the tireless dedication and unwavering support that fathers provide in raising their sons and daughters. Their presence, guidance, and care shape the lives of their children in profound ways.

This Sunday, on Father’s Day, we hope every father feels appreciated and celebrated. May you be reminded of the incredible gifts God has given you through your family, and may you continue to lead with wisdom, grace, and love.

From all of us at Plenty Valley Christian College—thank you, dads, uncles, and grandpa's.
