A Wild Day at Yarra Valley Zoo!

Our class had a fantastic day exploring the Yarra Valley Zoo! We were lucky enough to see so many amazing Australian animals, including koalas, kangaroos, snakes, turtles, wallabies and emus. The kids enjoyed learning about the clever macaws and loved their beautiful colours!

We witnessed the feeding of a spotted quoll, which was a huge favourite, especially after learning that its bite is incredibly powerful – just like a lion’s! The bettong was also a very exciting sight as these little marsupials are a rare sight in the wet weather.

We spent lots of time with the kangaroos, getting to feed them and give them quite a few pats as they wandered around our feet. We were super lucky to also spend some time watching two baby koalas clinging to their mum’s backs!
