Principal's Report

It is hard to believe we have reached the end of Term 3! It has been another busy term across both campuses, with so many wonderful learning experiences, events and opportunities for our students. Thank you to our staff, students and families for everything you have contributed throughout the term.

Long Service Leave – Week 1

As many of you know, I had an issue at my house at the end of last year which has meant I have been unable to live at home for the past nine months. I am very excited to finally be moving back in over the school holidays!

I will be taking Long Service Leave for Week 1 of Term 4 and Monday of Week 2, giving me some time to get everything organised and settled back into my home. During this time, our Curriculum Leader, Grace Barnard, will be Acting Principal and I know the school will be in very capable hands.

I will return on Tuesday, 13 October, ready for another busy and exciting term at Millwarra!

Warburton East Campus – Bushfire At-Risk Register Update

As I communicated through Compass earlier this week, the Department of Education works with the CSIRO each year to assess bushfire risk for schools using current information from national and state bushfire authorities.

As a result of this year's review, the bushfire risk category for our Warburton East Campus has changed. This means that on days when the Fire Danger Rating for our local government area is Extreme, students and staff at Warburton East will now be required to relocate.

We are very fortunate that, as a two-campus school, our Warburton East students and staff will be able to relocate to our Millgrove Campus, allowing our students to continue their learning together in a familiar Millwarra environment.

There is further information in this newsletter for families at both campuses, including what this change means and the arrangements that will be in place. Please take the time to read the relevant information so that everyone is familiar with our procedures ahead of the warmer months.

The safety of our students and staff will always remain our priority, and we will continue to work closely with the Department of Education to ensure we are well prepared.

Footy Colours Day

What an amazing way to finish Term 3! Our Seniors started the morning with a bike ride before everyone came together at Millgrove for an afternoon of Footy Colours Day activities. It was wonderful to see students from both campuses together, having fun and celebrating the end of another busy term. Families can support the day by making a donation through our Millwarra Primary School Footy Colours Day fundraising page.

Millgrove Open Day and Expo

We encourage our families to head along to the Millgrove Open Day and Expo on Sunday, 11 October from 10:30am–2:30pm at the CFA & Memorial Reserve. There will be plenty happening throughout the day, with entertainment, food stalls and lots of community activities. Millwarra Primary School will also have a stall on the day, so make sure you come over and say hello! It would be great to see lots of our families there supporting this wonderful community event.

Twilight Christmas Market

Save the date for our Twilight Christmas Market on Friday, 4 December from 5:00pm–7:00pm at our Millgrove Campus! We are looking forward to a wonderful evening bringing our school and wider community together to celebrate the festive season. If you, or someone you know, would be interested in having a stall at the market, please contact the school. More details will be shared next term!

School Tours

We are always excited to welcome new families to the Millwarra community. Enrolments are open across all year levels, and families are welcome to arrange a tour of either campus to see our school in action, meet our staff and learn more about what Millwarra has to offer.

Word of mouth is incredibly valuable, so if you know a family looking at schooling options for their child, we would love you to encourage them to get in touch with our school office and come along for a tour.

I hope everyone has a wonderful and well-deserved break over the school holidays and enjoys some time to relax and recharge.

As always, if you have any questions, concerns or feedback, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
