Welcome back to Term 4, our final term for 2026. I hope our students, staff and families enjoyed a well-earned break and have returned refreshed and ready for what will be another busy, exciting and rewarding term at PBC.

There is plenty to look forward to across our REDS community, with a wonderful calendar of events and celebrations including our Academic and Sports Awards Nights, Under the Lights, and Dance Night. These are special opportunities to celebrate the achievements, talents and contributions of our students across academic, sporting, creative and wider school life.

Our sporting REDS are also set for a big term, with the All Schools Touch Competition, the Junior SPL Final and the AFLQ State Finals at Maroochydore. We are incredibly proud that all six of our PBC AFL teams have qualified for the State Finals, an outstanding achievement and a wonderful reflection of the commitment of our students and coaches. We wish all our teams the very best as they represent PBC. Let’s go REDS!

Week 2 will be a significant milestone for our Year 12 students as they participate in the traditional Year 12 Walkout, marking the end of their regular classes and the beginning of the final stage of their secondary schooling. From 26 October, many of our Year 12 students will commence their external examinations, an important final step in their Senior School journey. I wish all students sitting external exams every success and encourage them to remain focused, prepare well and draw on the support of their teachers, families and friends.

While our Year 12 students begin to finish their PBC journey, it is important that all other year levels finish the year strong. There is still so much learning to do, progress to make and opportunities to embrace. Every lesson, every assessment and every day matters, and I encourage our students to continue to give their best and strive for Nil Sed Optima, Nothing but the Best.

One of the exciting opportunities this term is our Year 9 Work Experience Program in Week 10. This is a wonderful opportunity for our Year 9 students to step outside the classroom and experience the world of work, develop new skills and gain an insight into possible pathways before embarking on their Senior School journey.

Term 4 is always a special time at PBC. It is a time to celebrate how far we have come, recognise the achievements of our students and staff, and finish the year with pride. I look forward to sharing many more REDS successes and celebrations with our school community as we bring 2026 to a strong finish.
