Year 3/4 Camp

This year our Year 3/4 students headed to Gundiwindi Lodge for their camp and had a brilliant time! Students were given the chance to do many team work building activities as well as some Challenge by Choice activities where they needed to be a bit brave and conquer some nerves about heights! 

We are so thankful for Mrs Georgiadis, Mrs Hesse, Miss Davies, Mr O and Mr Ru for taking the time to take our students to camp! Please read through some reflections from our kiddos and see some photos below! 

What did you enjoy about our camp this year? 

The Giant Swing because I went to the top and I went so much higher than I thought I would go. I also loved the trampolines because they are really big and really jumpy. I went on them at least 15 times! - Sophie 

 

Going on the Flying Fox, but also spending time with my friends! - Maya 

 

I liked when it was my turn on the Giant Swing. The Giant Swing swung soooo high up and when it was my turn I was scared to go, but after I saw kids having fun I went! - Felicia 

 

I enjoyed going on the Giant Swing because I got to go really high. It was scary at first but when I started swinging it was actually really fun and it felt like I was flying. - Peter

 

The Flying Fox and the Giant Swing because the Giant Swing you got to go really far in the sky! - Diana 

 

That I got to spend time with my friends and eat lots of lollies with them. I really liked the Giant Swing and the Flying Fox. On the Flying Fox you could lean back and do tricks! - Holly E

I loved the Giant Swing! It was so fun when you dropped and started swinging back and forth. I was the first person on it and was funny when everyone else got a surprise holding on to the rope watching me swing! - Molly 

What is something that surprised you about our camp this year? 

When we cooked damper, how yummy it actually tasted! - Julian 

 

When the lady came with the animals, that was a surprise. -Maya

 

Meeting Emma’s Aussie animals. I really hated the snake because I am petrified of them but Blossom the possum and Freddo the frog were so cute. - Molly

 

I did not know we got to eat the damper after we cooked it which was nice. Next time maybe we can have marshmallows! - William

 

How yummy the damper tasted but also how high the Giant Swing went! - Holly E 

 

I was surprised that we did damper cooking because I’ve only done it once but we did it differently. The first time I did it we put it in tin foil but we did so it’s on a stick this time and I think it worked so much better then the tin foil one. Also it was really yummy because we put butter and jam in it and it was so so good! - Sophie 

As you can see the Giant Swing, Damper Cooking and the Animal Incursion really stood out for our students! They also took part in Initiatives, a Flying Fox and a Low Ropes Course! We are so proud of our students and their behaviour on camp!
