Dear St Anthony's Families,

A prayer of thanks

Loving God,

We thank you for this term at St Anthony's, for the laughter in our classrooms, the growth in our students and the dedication of our staff and families.

We thank you for moments of joy, like our Cinderella production and for moments of challenge that helped us grow stronger.

We thank you for our teachers, who share their gifts so generously each day and for our students, who bring energy and hope into our school community.

As we look ahead to the holidays, we ask that you watch over our families, keep them safe and give them rest.

Help us return in Term 4 renewed and ready to continue learning and growing together.

We ask for guidance from our patron Saint, Anthony.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen.

What a jam-packed term it has been at St Anthony's! From our Learning Conversation in week 2 to the wonderful production we saw on Wednesday night, our students have not only shown wonderful growth, resilience and enthusiasm for learning, but embraced the performing arts this term.

Production - Cinderella

Congratulations to all the students involved in our school production of Cinderella last Wednesday! Another MASSIVE thank-you to Tracey and Marie for their vision and organisation of such a big feat. Also, a big congratulations to all the staff and students for a successful production.

It was a wonderful showcase of talent, teamwork and very hard work. The video from the production is still available for purchase for $15. Please see Tracey and Liz in the office or send us an email at office@santglen.catholic.edu.au.

Kinder Visit

Last Friday we hosted 65 Kinder Kids from around the area. They had a wonderful time and most of the children came in the king costumes and princess dresses. It was so beautiful to see. The connections we have with the Kinders around our school are very special.

Special mention to our current preps! They did a wonderful job being special group leaders. Thank you to Mrs Martello, Mrs O'Hara, Miss Davies, Mrs Di Camillo, Mrs Birthisel and our 5/6 students for putting on a wonderful show and activities.

3/4 Camp

Our Year 3/4 students recently enjoyed camp at Gundiwindi Lodge, where they took part in many activities such a giant swing, flying fox, damper cooking, initiatives course and a wildlife incursion. It was a fantastic opportunity for students to build independence, resilience and friendships outside the classroom. Thank you to Mr O, Mrs Georgiadis, Mrs Hesse and Miss Davies who accompanied students and made the camp such a huge success.

Miss Jess Davies - Thank You!

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to Miss Jessica Davies for her contribution this term at St Anthony's. She is an up and coming 'gun' teacher, who will have a wonderful and successful career ahead of her. Thank-you Jess, for everything you have done for all the students, and especially those in 3/4. They have learnt a lot from you and we are very grateful for everything you have brought to our community. All the best for your teaching career.

Miss Rachael King - LSO Placement

We are pleased to welcome Miss Rachael King, who will be joining us for an LSO placement in the first three weeks of Term 4. We look forward to supporting her during her time at St Anthony's.

PFA Fundraising!

Thanks to the wonderful fundraising efforts of our PFA this year, we are looking at how these funds can best benefit our school community. Some of the areas being considered and invested in include:

Garden - maintenance and development of our garden and garden program
Italian Day - The PFA partly funds the Italian Day production that comes to St Anthony's in Week 3 of Term 4
New devices and upgrades - the maintenance and purchase of laptops and teacher devices to support learning across the school

I will keep the community updated as these plans progress.

Well Wishes for the Holidays

As we head into the holidays, we wish all our students and families a safe, restful and enjoyable break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for Term 4. Thank you to our staff, students and families for making Term 3 such a positive term.

I will be on leave from Thursday 17th September until Monday 12th October. I will be monitoring my emails, so please get in touch should you feel the need. In my absence, Loretto will look after the day-to-day running of the school.
