ACS Rugby Trials and Gary McSweeney Cup

Last Friday, our Primary Rugby Union team travelled to Tamworth for the Gary McSweeney Gala Day. Well done to all students on a fantastic day. Percy Lee, Rafe Waller and Jack Oakes made it through to the Possibles and Probables match later in the day with both Rafe and Jack being selected to represent the Armidale Diocese at the NSWCPS Rugby Union Championships in Forbes on Sunday, 29th June - Monday, 30 June 2025. Thank you to our parent coaches who supported the team at the trials.

To our students competing in the Combined Primary Schools Cross Country in Sydney next Wednesday 11th of June.

SAVE the DATE

Our classes are getting ready for the Athletics Carnival and refining their skills with track and field events. Our Athletics Carnival will be held on: Wednesday 18 June 2025. This will be for Year 2 students turning 8 this year and all Year 3 - 6 students.

Upcoming Sporting Events:

Schools Cup - Netball

The Netball Schools Cup is being held on Friday 13 June at the Inverell Sporting Complex. Teams are being formed and notes will be sent home later this week with more information.

Upcoming Trials:

Trials for the Netball Schools Cup Yr 5/6 competitive team are currently underway.
Trials for the Stage 3 Todd Woodbridge Cup team will be held next week. Expressions of Interest will be taken in the next couple of days and information will be sent out on Compass.
Expressions of Interest for the Toni Palmer Memorial Shield will be taken in the next couple of days. If needed trials will be held during week 7 and 8. More information will be provided via Compass.

School Sport

Students will continue to participate in one of the following winter sports this term: rugby league, soccer, netball, league tag, Hockey, basketball, indoor sports ($5.00).

Bill Turner Cup Soccer

Congratulations to the Boys Bill Turner Cup team who played and defeated Inverell High on Friday of week 2. The boys played a great game and defended particularly well to come out on top with a score of 2-0. Good luck to the boys who will now play Armidale Secondary Collage in round 3 of the competition, this Thursday in Armidale.

Cross Country

Good luck to the selected 7-10 Boys and Girls long distance runners, who will travel to Sydney to compete in the NSWCCC Cross Country on Wednesday week 7.

NSW CCC Netball

Congratulations to Ruby Selig, who competed last Thursday in the NSW CCC 15’s netball selections in Penrith. Ruby did an outstanding job in representing Holy Trinity and the Armidale Diocese.

U18’s Diocesan Soccer

Congratulations to Makayde Goldman who was selected in the Combined girls U18's Lismore/Armidale Diocesan Soccer team in week 5 of Term 1. Makayde competed at the NSW CCC Football Championships in Sydney last Tuesday. Makayde represented our school in an exceptional way at an extremely high level of competition and was selected in the NSW CCC 18's girls team. This is an outstanding achievement as a year 10 student. Makayde and her family should be very proud of her efforts.
