Senior School
As we reach the end of another busy term and our VCE students prepare for their final internal assessments, I take this time to wish all students sitting examinations this year the very best.
It is a stressful time for our young people and their emotions can run high. A gentle reminder to our students that while these examinations are a culmination of all their years at Oakleigh Grammar, whatever grade they achieve, whatever ATAR they gain, will not define them as a person and who they are.
Life beyond high school is very different and open with so many opportunities. It is an exciting time and should be grasped with both hands. Should your journey take an extra year, or 5, enjoy it and learn from your mistakes along the way. Every hurdle or hiccup is an opportunity to learn and grow.
Our Year 10 students are preparing for their camp at Allambee, this should prove to be an exciting few days. Meanwhile, our Year 11 students prepare themselves for leadership roles in the 2024 year with our captains presenting to the school community next week. Our Year 11 students also get a taste of their first Formal in week 9 which will be a night to remember.
This will be my final Grammar News as I head off on Long Service Leave. To our graduating Year 12 students, remember all that you have learnt along your high school journey and keep those life lessons close to your heart. Remember you always have a home here at Oakleigh Grammar and we are always excited to hear about your journeys beyond high school. Stay in touch, come visit and know that you will be in our thoughts and prayers as you embark on the next chapter of your lives.
Take care and stay safe.
