Hello DPW Community,
School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS)
I am very excited to share that DPW has achieved Silver Level of acknowledgement in 2025 for your School-Wide Positive behaviour Support (SWPBS) implementation!
The Silver level of acknowledgement recognises that our school has successfully established SWPBS Tier 1 implementation and has actively supported staff in embedding the Positive Classroom Management Strategies (PCMS). It also reflects the key fidelity measures we achieved in 2025. This accomplishment is the result of contributions from our entire school community, staff, students, and families.
I would like to extend my thanks to our Positive Climate Team, who have continued to ensure we have a strong and clearly articulated Social and Emotional Learning curriculum. Their ongoing work in analysing behaviour data and supporting whole‑school implementation has been invaluable to our success.
24 Hour Stop Work
The Australian Education Union has called on its members to take strike action on Tuesday 24 March 2026. I do not yet know exactly how many staff will take part in this action; however, I can say that DPW will not be able to run classes and our usual program on that day.
I will send further information on Friday evening regarding which classes will not be required to attend on the day.
If this will cause you difficulties, in particular if you are a critical services worker, please get in touch as soon as possible.
Please use the supervised crossing
When picking up or dropping off your child/ren, please use the supervised crossings.
We have been noticing a number of adults, with children, just crossing the road directly in front of the main school gate. While you may not see this as an issue, it is demonstrating to students that this is ok. Young children can form the belief that this is safe behaviour and they try to copy. I have had to stop some children from running across the road.
Please assist by being an excellent role model and use the supervised crossing.
