Dear Families, Students and Community Members,

May and early June is a busy but exciting time for students, staff and parents at Mordialloc College. There are some amazing opportunities on the horizon to celebrate student learning growth and achievement, which makes May and June one of the most rewarding times during the academic year.

Year 9 – MEX City Experience Excursion

MEX classes will be heading on their two-day city experience excursion on 4 and 5 June. Permission and payment are due by Wednesday 27 May — please note this is a hard deadline and late payments cannot be accepted.

VCE Subject Tasters

Year 10 students are currently completing VCE subject tasters, a great opportunity to experience life as a VCE student and further inform their subject selections. Year 9 students will participate in the taster program in Week 7.

Exams – Years 10 and 11

Years 10 and 11 students have exams in Weeks 7 and 8. Students are reminded to check the Exam Navigator for their personal exam timetable and exam protocols. Exams at Mordialloc College are run in line with VCAA exam conditions, so it is important that students are familiar with expectations before exam day.

Study Tips

With exams approaching, here are a few reminders to help students perform at their best:

  • Start reviewing notes now — don't leave it to the night before
  • Use practice questions and past materials where available
  • Break study into manageable blocks with short breaks in between
  • Get a good night's sleep before each exam
  • Eat well and stay hydrated on exam days

It seems winter is beginning to set in, so stay warm, stay focused and keep taking learning opportunities as they present themselves!
