After a long day at school, some children might seem upset, tired, or overwhelmed when they get home. This isn’t bad behaviour—it’s often because they’ve been trying really hard all day to focus, follow rules, and manage their feelings.

Home is a safe place, so those big feelings can come out there.

When we understand why this happens, we can respond with care and support, helping children feel calm, safe, and ready for the next day.

The Contented Child, Child Wellbeing Consultancy has produced the attached visual to assist with understanding of this process.  Additional helpful resources can be obtained from their facebook page -  https://www.facebook.com/thecontentedchild
