Ride2school Day 2026
What an amazing Ride2school day we had last Friday 20th March. It was wonderful to see our community come together to ride, scoot or walk to school. On the day we were joined by MP Kat Theophanous , Darebin Mayor Emily Dimitriades, councillors Ruth Jelley and Alexandra Sangster, Bart from Dr Cranky’s Bike hospital and staff from the Bicycle network and Darebin council.
We thank the P & F who supplied students with fruit and managed the smoothie bike provided by Bike N Blend.
At assembly Safe routes to school was launched to our community by the Mayor. Legs the Octopus is now in the front office area and further information will be shared by the Darebin council shortly.
In Term 2 we encourage students to follow the coloured octopus decals that will be on footpaths near the school. These show the easiest and safest ways to walk, ride or scoot to school.
In Term 2 we will be part of the WOW (Walk or Wheel) Darebin council program. Every Wednesday we will be encouraging everyone to walk, ride or scoot to school. The class who does so most regularly will win a pizza lunch and the GOLDEN BOOT trophy.
