Foundation students have been practising a short song with related movements based on a poem titled 'A Little Seed'. Their learning has focused on group singing and harmonisation, communicating through movement and exploring the use of scarves as an improvisation tool.
Grade 1 and 2 students are re-telling well-known fairy tales by focusing on characterisation, movement and voice. They have extended their skills in facial expression, vocal tone and pitch, movement to communicate and their ability to work cohesively in teams.
Grade 3 and 4 students are scripting their own scenes about a crisis of Earth's natural resources. Their challenge was to identify a point of crisis and communicate this with an audience through characterisation and plot. They have integrated their classroom learning with their work in the Performing Arts to explore some complex cross-curricular concepts.
Grade 5 and 6 students putting in final details for their Let'sTALKaboutIT! performances. Whilst the cast has focused on areas such as characterisation, the tech and marketing teams have been looking at how we can use different elements to engage and inform an audience.
