Team News
The dust has settled on an amazing 2024 and our attention has turned to finding our new team. Over the past 9 weeks we have been putting our year 5 and 6 hopefuls through their paces to see who will be our new 2025 HPV pilots.
So what has our tryout period looked like. Checkout some of the great shots below of our students working away at some in trike training, track testing, endurance and speed tests as well as a wide range of skill and operational tests. Our lap records have been well beaten in just the first 5 weeks of trials, a testament to the commitment from our students.
- VICTORIAN HPV SERIES -
Our First Win!
On Saturday, as part of our 2025 tryouts, Energy Breakthrough teams headed to the Calder Park race circuit for the first race in the Victorian Grand Prix human powered vehicle series. The conditions were trying to say the least, with 30+ degree air temperatures and around 40 degrees in the trikes. Both teams gave it their all with Adrenaline coming out on top in 1st place in the Junior Open category. Whiplash came in a very respectable 6th place.
Adrenaline completed 141 laps, Whiplash 113, both in the 7 hour total event duration.
The students put in some great stints throughout the day, with Will Brown and Flynn Pata starting the race and setting the standard.
A massive thank you to all the parents and guardians who got their child to the event. Also, to everyone who made the event happen. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.
Without the support of the Energy Breakthrough community opportunities like this simply do not exist for our students.
For those students who are actively taking part in the tryout period, keep putting your best foot forward as we continue to search for our 2025 team.
THANKYOU TO OUR AMAZING SPONSORS FOR ANOTHER YEAR WITH US
