Dear Parents and Carers

Congratulations to our newly confirmed Year 6 students who received the Sacrament of Confirmation last weekend at St Mary’s Cathedral. It was a very special celebration in our Catholic Church’s Jubilee Year. Our students and their families represented OLF and themselves proudly. May they “go forward called to be disciples in this world” filled with the gifts of the Holy Spirit!.

Dear Lord,

Help us to always listen and believe in Jesus, ‘ the voice of truth’.

May we always be guided by your Holy Spirit.

May we use the gifts we receive in Confirmation to continue to walk your path and forever be the face of Christ to whoever we meet.

We open our hearts and lives to you, Holy Spirit: breathe a breath of new life into us all!

Amen

Over the last few weeks and months we have had a number of our early career teachers finalise and submit their evidence in becoming Proficient Teachers through a rigorous accreditation process with NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA). The process involves meeting standards through professional development and gathering and submitting evidence aligned to the Teacher Standards.

These teachers have been reflective in their practice and have worked with dedication, resilience, and passion towards achieving this significant milestone in their careers. It reflects a commitment to their professional growth and contributes to the positive impact they are making with their students, in their classrooms and to our community every day. These young teachers have been strongly supported, coached and mentored through the Mentoring Program implemented this year. I am so proud of the professional learning community that we belong to at OLF where everyone is growing, thriving and flourishing.

Final Parent Rep Meeting for 2025

Our fundraising efforts and community involvement throughout the year has been met with much enthusiasm and success. Thank you to Anna Giovenco and Nicola Ainsworth who have driven most of the initiatives and events. Their energy and commitment has helped to raise funds to enhance our school and playground areas (which was our focus this year).

We will meet next week, to finalise and celebrate our fundraising efforts so far this year and begin planning for 2026.

Please come along if you would like to contribute in any way on Thursday, 27th November at 2:15pm.
