WHS Shining Stars:
Brooklyn and DiLa are Star Model-Makers:
DiLa and Brooklyn shared their model of an underground bunker they made. It was camouflaged with grass on top, had a couple of small and secret booby traps built in, and housed a bunk, stretcher, medical supplies, and hiding soldiers. Very cool work.
Violet is a Star Player:
Violet was recently voted Player of the Day for her football team by both her own team and the opposition team. How cool is that!
Ada is a Star Artist:
Room 13 children are working on Tapa Art for Samoan Language Week.
Here is Ada with two stages of her process.
Johnny is a BMX Star - and a Wahs Fan:
Johnny went to Australia in the holidays, and the Warriors were on the plane! He got a cool photo with the captain and others:)
Also, this is Johnny - in the yellow - at his first-ever BMX race!
Kenzie is a Star Poi Performer
Kenzie had been looking forward to sharing her new poi skills with Mr McGreal. She was very proud—as were we.
Tait is a Rising Star:
This is a piece written by Tait's grandma, explaining Tait's baseball journey on a path to stardom.
Tait's journey from Western Heights to earning a college baseball scholarship in Nebraska is a testament to his dedication and skill in the sport. His fond memories of his time at Western Heights, where he honed his abilities, reflect the strong foundation that has propelled him to new heights. Being recognised as the MVP in his last season in New Zealand's Premiers highlights his outstanding performance and potential.
As he prepares to embark on this exciting new chapter in August, the support and well-wishes from his community undoubtedly accompany him. This transition marks a significant milestone in Tait's athletic and academic career, promising a future filled with further achievements and growth.
Stop Press:
Tait was also just selected for the New Zealand Under 23 Baseball team but has had to pass on this as he is moving to play College ball in Nebraska.
