Year 7 Girls Basketball
Our Year 7 girls basketball teams had an outstanding day on Wednesday 9 September, with both the A and B teams winning all of their games against Wheelers Hill SC, South Oakleigh SC and Wellington SC.
Congratulations to all of the players on a fantastic team effort. Communication was excellent, teamwork was impressive and their sportsmanship throughout the day was outstanding. The girls represented Brentwood Secondary College with pride and were wonderful role models for our school.
A huge congratulations to the A team, who now progress through to the District competition!

Monash Division Athletics
The weather was perfect for the Monash Division Athletics Carnival held at Knox. We had a large team representing Brentwood, competing against our local schools, and many talented athletes returned to school with a ribbon. Our students looked fantastic in their uniforms and were clearly proud to represent Brentwood. We were certainly the school to beat!
This year, the points allocated to the Junior, Intermediate, Senior and Overall Shields were incredibly close. Every event matters, and when a student misses an event or a school cannot fill one, valuable points can be awarded to another school. That is why we encourage participation and having a go. You don’t have to be the best, but you do have to try your best. Every student who steps up, competes and gives it their all contributes to the success of our team.
Special mention to our athletes who broke five records;
- Madison Rowe who broke records in the high jump, long jump and triple jump!
- David Clarke in the high jump
- Edwin Bentley in the 1500m
Congratulations to our amazing team, who were crowned Junior and Intermediate Division Champions, with Brentwood also taking out the Overall Shield!
What an incredible achievement! Our students’ talent, determination and willingness to have a go made this a carnival to remember. We are so proud of everyone who represented Brentwood and contributed to this fantastic result.
Thank you to the staff and pre service teachers who officiated and helped with the smooth running of the day; Mr Shah, Ms Wrench, Mr Louey, Ms Pettinella, Ms Evans, Mr Clayton.
It was also fantastic to see so many parents and family members attending to cheer on their athletes and support Brentwood. We really appreciate your encouragement and support!
Brentwood now has 34 students competing across 41 individual events and 3 relay teams at the EMR Athletics Carnival on Thursday, October 8, at the Knox Athletics Track.
Best of luck to all our students competing. We are so proud of you and can’t wait to see you give it your best!
