We have some exciting news!  

Pyjama & Movie Day

The SRC will be organising a Pyjama and Movie Day on Thursday 2nd July. Students are invited to come to school in their comfiest sensible pyjamas and will enjoy a movie in their cosy clothes (G‑rated for K–2 and PG for Years 3–6).

Students are welcomed to bring in their own pre popped popcorn and may also bring a snuggly toy if they wish. Please ensure students wear suitable school shoes to and from school and during lunch, though they are welcome to wear slippers in the classroom. 

NAIDOC Week

NAIDOC Week is fast approaching, and we will be celebrating at StMM on Wednesday 1st of July. We give a warm welcome to Eric from Aboriginal Experiences Sydney – Natcha Cultural Tours, who will be leading our NAIDOC event. We are excited to learn from his knowledge, stories, and cultural teachings as we celebrate and honour the world’s oldest continuing culture. 

As part of the event, Eric will lead a smoking ceremony and give students an educational talk while sharing artefacts and playing the didgeridoo. Smoking ceremonies are one of the oldest continuing cultural practices in the world, used for thousands of years to bring people together, honour ancestors, and support spiritual and physical wellbeing.

Parents and carers are warmly invited to attend the smoking ceremony. More details to come.

What a way to finish up Term 2!
