Accessible Building Works Progress Update

Angela Dawson

This week we held our first onsite progress meeting with me, the builders, and the architect, and I'm pleased to report that everyone is very happy with how the project is advancing. It's wonderful to see the plans we've been discussing taking shape!

The bathroom works are progressing well in both the OSHC area and the Year 1 area. We're on track for both of these facilities to be completed during the upcoming holiday break, which means students will return next term to brand new accessible amenities.

During the holidays, key preparation works will also begin in the Year 2/3 area, getting everything ready for the decking work that will commence next term. We've strategically planned this timeline so that all the noisy concrete demolition work can be completed while there are no students onsite, helping us minimise any noisy disruption to learning once term resumes.

I should prepare you that when you return next term, the Year 2/3 area will look quite like a building site! However, please be assured that access to all classrooms will be maintained through designated walkways, ensuring our students and families can move safely around the construction zone. Some lining up areas will be moving to new locations (and perhaps at short notice) however classroom teachers will keep their classes updated.

I look forward to sharing more pictures and progress updates with you early next term as we continue this exciting journey toward a more accessible school environment for everyone.
