As we close the books on another fantastic term at Valkstone Primary School, I want to take a moment to celebrate everything our school community has achieved together. From our students' dedication in the classroom to the countless hours our families have invested in supporting their learning journey, it's been a term filled with growth, discovery, and memorable moments.

Before we head into the holidays, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to our incredible teaching staff. This term, our teachers have once again demonstrated their unwavering commitment to nurturing every child's potential. From the early morning preparations to the thoughtful planning that happens well beyond school hours, our teachers have poured their hearts into creating engaging, supportive learning environments where every student can thrive. Your dedication, creativity, and genuine care for our students never goes unnoticed. Enjoy this well-deserved break – you've more than earned it.

Our school is truly blessed with the most wonderful, generous families. This term has been a shining example of what we can achieve when we work together. To the fantastic fundraising events team who made our Trivia Night such a resounding success: Your energy, organisation, and community spirit raised both funds and spirits! The laughter and connections made that evening will be remembered long after the last question was answered.

A special thank you also goes to all the wonderful parents who have given their time during our Thursday morning sessions. Whether you've been helping in classrooms, supporting reading, or lending a hand with various school activities, your presence makes such a meaningful difference to our students' learning experience. The children light up when they see familiar faces from home supporting their school day.

The two-week holiday break ahead couldn't come at a better time. After months of hard work, our students, staff, and families have more than earned this opportunity to rest, recharge, and reconnect with each other.

For many families, the holiday highlight will be the excitement of AFL Grand Final day. Whether you're barracking for your team from the MCG, gathered around the television with family and friends, or simply enjoying the festive atmosphere that fills Melbourne during Grand Final weekend, it's one of those uniquely Melbourne experiences that brings our community together. May the best team win, and may everyone enjoy the celebration of our great game!

Beyond the footy festivities, I encourage all our families to embrace the slower pace of the holidays. Whether that means sleeping in a little longer, exploring Melbourne's beautiful parks and gardens as spring continues to unfold, visiting family and friends, or simply spending quality time together at home, these moments of connection are precious.

Enjoy every moment of these holidays – you've earned them!
