A Year to Celebrate: Reflecting on 2024

As we come to the end of another remarkable year at Dromana College, I am incredibly proud of all that we have achieved as a community. This year has been filled with outstanding accomplishments, growth, and moments that showcase the strength, dedication, and spirit of our students, staff, and families.

Historic VCE Results – Our Best Year Yet

It is with immense pride that I celebrate the exceptional VCE results achieved by our students in 2024—the best in our college’s history. These achievements highlight the dedication of our students and the unwavering support provided by our staff and families:

• Median Study Score: 32
• Perfect Study Scores: 3 students achieved a perfect score of 50.
• Top Performers: 9% of students achieved study scores of 40 or above, placing them among the state’s best.
• Strong Results: 20% of students achieved study scores of 37 or above.
• High ATAR Achievements:
  • Nearly 50% of the cohort earned an ATAR above 80.0.
  • Our College DUX achieved an outstanding ATAR of 98.0, with nine students earning ATARs above 95.0.
  • Median ATAR: 76.3.

These results are a testament to the strength of our high-quality teaching and learning program. More importantly, they represent the lives we’ve transformed, the opportunities we’ve created, and the confidence we’ve helped build in every student.

Celebrating Student Success Across the College

2024 has been a year of incredible achievements, with students excelling across academic programs, sports, performing arts, and co-curricular activities.

• Leadership: Our college captains have been exceptional ambassadors for Dromana College, providing leadership at assemblies and representing our school values with pride and dedication.
• College Musical – The Addams Family: Our school production was a resounding success, showcasing the creativity, teamwork, and passion of our students and staff. It was an unforgettable experience and a highlight of the year.
• Sporting Achievements:
  • We proudly celebrated national and state champions across multiple disciplines.
  • Our students excelled at regional summer and winter sports carnivals, demonstrating outstanding teamwork and resilience.
  • A special highlight was securing the prestigious Padua Cup, a testament to the dedication and sportsmanship of our athletes.

Looking Forward to 2025

The future of Dromana College continues to look bright, with strong enrolment numbers reflecting the trust and confidence our community places in our staff, programs, and students. As we look ahead to 2025, I am excited about the opportunities for further growth, learning, and success across all aspects of the college.
