Junior Debating

Max Jagger Y8, Skipper Jones Y7 and Joshua Clayton Y7 represented Dromana College for Junior Debating, versing other schools in Victoria via Zoom. 

The students did a fantastic job arguing topics like ‘advertisements targeting children should not be banned’ and ‘technology in schools is doing more harm than good’.

A final message from Year 12 Natalia Fakos.

The past 5 years debating at DSC has been an incredible journey that has shaped me forever. From bonding with close friends over ridiculous topics, receiving Mrs. Bonfadini's pep talks pre-debate freak out and improving my public speaking skills, debating was an unforgettable experience I recommend to everyone, no matter your confidence level. I went from a shy Year 7 to an A grade debating captain in one of Victoria’s top two teams (go DSC!) with awards I will always cherish. Meeting and debating alongside my closest friends and seeing everyone grow in confidence has unarguably been the best part of my journey in debating at Dromana. Although small, the DSC debating club will always hold a special place in my heart. Shout out to all the debaters who did amazingly this year, I have no doubt that the Year 11s will carry the debating legacy strong for 2025!’
