This week in Social and Emotional Learning (SEL), our Year 5/6 students explored Child Safe Standard 5, focusing on how families, schools and communities work together to keep children safe.
Students discussed trust, help-seeking and the importance of being heard, then created an “Every Link Matters” chain highlighting the people and actions that support their safety and wellbeing.

Throughout the semester in English, students have explored a range of engaging texts, including The Grandest Bookshop and Us Mob Walawurru, inspiring rich discussion and creative writing.
In Mathematics, students have been developing their understanding of decimal place value through partitioning activities, strengthening their confidence and reasoning skills.
Beyond the classroom, students participated in Kids Helpline online sessions to support their anti-bullying campaigns. They also engaged in Sizzling Starts writing, reflected on ANZAC Day and explored Reconciliation Week, deepening their understanding of respect, history and belonging.
It has been a busy and rewarding time in 5/6 and we are proud of the students’ effort, creativity and thoughtful engagement.
