Celebration Spot
Honouring and celebrating our student's achievements
Each week we love to celebrate any students who may have achieved something significant during the past week; sporting events, dancing, baptisms, theatre, music achievements, new babies etc. both inside school and outside school.
Please email admin@dcs.tas.edu.au with the details (we would love a photo too!) so we can celebrate together as a community.
It is with great excitement that we welcome a new member to the DCS Community:
Congratulations to Mr & Mrs Richards, along with John and Gwen on the safe arrival of your new son and baby brother William!

Congratulations to Maybelle (Year 7), who has been selected to be an ambassador for the MS Readathon this year, after fundraising and raising awareness for MS for a number of years now. Since 2019 and now into her 8th year of the MS Readathon, Maybelle has raised a total of $14,322, awarded the Devonport City Council Young Citizen of the Year at the Australia Day Awards earlier this year, and has shown incredible dedication and determination in her fundraising. Maybelle’s time, energy, and commitment play an important role in making the MS Readathon a success—and her efforts continue to make a meaningful impact to ensure people with neuroconditions can live better lives and discover new possibilities. Well done Maybelle!
Maybelle will be at the Don Market over the next few weeks and you can follow her progress on her Facebook page, Maybelle's Mission 4 MS.

Well done to Stanton B. (Year 8), who was featured in The Advocate this week. In the article, he shared what it meant to receive the Great Mate Award at the YFCC Inspiring Youth Awards last year and the positive impact the recognition has had on his life.
The article highlighted Stanton's selfless acts of kindness and the positive impact those actions have on others, which is why he was nominated for the award.
The Great Mate Award recognises someone who consistently supports those around them with kindness, encouragement and genuine care, and nominations for the YFCC Inspiring Awards for this year are now open until August 26 on their website.
