Spring Magic Market

Newsletter edition #06
6 weeks till market – Saturday 12 September
Volunteers needed to make our market great!
Planning for our Spring Magic Market is well underway. Sign up now to volunteer at the biggest event of the year! Many hands make light work – we warmly welcome ALL members of our school families to sign up for a shift using the online volunteer roster: volunteersignup.org/MXYXW
Stall leaders needed for:
- Face-painting stall
- Hot pie stall (pre-purchased Ivan’s pies)
- Carnival games – support for senior students to run the games
We particularly need help in the planning, set-up and pack-down of the market, including cooking. If you have any skills or trade experience that would be of benefit, please let us know via email. Need help with the kids? Try our free childminding services (OSHC). Email us to register your interest.
Donate your pre-loved items
We would love your donations of items such as:
- kids' and adults' clothing
- shoes, bags and costumes
- books, puzzles and board games.
Please donate only items in excellent pre-loved condition – no fast fashion or items with stains, holes, or excessive wear. Please note: we are not accepting toys this year.
Thank you for your generosity and support! Donation drop-off point inside the main school building (near Sprout entrance).
Donations for Silent and Art Auction
If you own a business, have a connection with a local business, have a unique item, experience, or holiday home to donate, we would love to hear from you. We're also grateful for recommendations of businesses that may be interested in supporting our school community as sponsors. Please contact Kirsty-Lee Laidlaw on 0400 731 370 or email the SMM team.
The Art Auction is a huge success every year. Donate your creative artworks such as paintings, drawings, sculpture, ceramics, photography, textiles, quilts and jewellery. Channel your creativity at our Art and Craft Making Day(see below).
Artwork does not need to be framed. We ask that works on paper are submitted on good-quality paper and that all items are packaged carefully to help protect them. When submitting your donation, please complete a donor form and include your contact details.

Art and Craft Making Day – Saturday 8 August 10am–2pm
Come along to the STELA building at school this Saturday and join in the creativity as we make handmade treasures to sell or auction at the market.
Art Auction – Budding and experienced artists can draw, paint, sculpt, print, or explore any artistic medium you're passionate about. Please bring your own art materials, including brushes, paints, pencils, canvases, paper, and any other supplies you need.
Handmade market crafts – Help us create handcrafted items to sell at the market. Please bring your own sewing machine, fabric, thread, needles, wool, and any other crafting supplies.
Get creative, meet other members of our school community, and help make this year's SMM a success! Bring a plate to share, tea and coffee provided. Contact Vanessa Hughes 0402 710356 with queries.
Call for musicians
Are you a musician, singer or performer? Showcase your incredible talent within our school community at this year’s Spring Magic Market. We welcome expressions of interest to play on our Main Stage. Note: student performers are coordinated by Denis Phelan on our Stela Stage.
Whether you're a solo artist, part of a band, a choir member or an instrumentalist, we want to hear from you. To be considered, please email details including links/audio files to Jo Cackett at market@brunswicknwps.vic.edu.au
Thank you for your ongoing support
