School Council Representatives

Hi, I am Jessica and I have been a member of the BNW community since 2018, with our youngest, Quincy, currently loving life in MJM. I joined the school council in 2024, and I am also a long-time member of the Education committee and RAP (Reconciliation Action Plan) committee. I don’t have a background of working in education but I think it’s good having some fresh perspective alongside the valuable practice wisdom from our DoE members, and would encourage anyone who is considering joining one of our sub-committees or school council to give it a go. For me, a key characteristic of being apart of school council is a commitment to not shying away from courageous conversations, but to do this in a way that stays curious and connected. What has really shone through is that everyone involved in our little school – from the leadership team; support staff; teachers; parents; my fellow council members – wants the best for our school and our students. I’d welcome contact if you ever have a question for myself or feedback for school council. I’m Dad to Hugh (grade 5) and Mabel (grade 3). Both kids have been at BNWPS since foundation, so we’ve been around for a little while now. You’ll often see us walking to/from school with our dog via Dunstan Reserve, and out and about at various local kids’ sports- please feel free to come say hi.

I’m Fiona, parent to a bright-eyed Foundation student. Being new to the BNWPS community, I jumped at the chance to join the School Council and am excited to learn and help shape our school. By day, I work in the corporate world, but you’ll often spot me at Foundie drop off and pick up - please, come and say hello! 

My name is Aleesha Harrison-Grace, mum of Jade Harrison-Grace in year 2. I’m keen to contribute to good school governance. Please let me know if you have any feedback for the school that I can pass on. You can find me near the rainbow wooden seat, next to the basketball court, after school.

Hi- I’m Kate. I have a daughter in Grade 1 and a son at the kindergarten next to the school.  I’m new to school council and hope to support the wonderful BNWP community. My background is in child protection including education in humanitarian / emergency settings and child sexual abuse prevention. I’m at school most days including Friday mornings at the wonderful Yakai Barring playgroup. I am easy to spot as I wear a mask (covid style). So feel free to come and say hello. 

Hi, I'm Tess, and I have kids in grades 2 and 5—so I'm basically a full-time chauffeur with an endless supply of snacks. If you want to find me I'm at Sprout every Friday morning drinking way too much coffee and talking about the next CET event, finance (which I call FUNance) or hip hop dancing.   

I'm Karri, and I've been president of the BNWPS School Council since March this year. My son Malachy is in Grade 2, and my youngest Ronan will start Foundie in 2027. I work as a kindergarten teacher, and I love craft of all kinds. I've recently started to learn how to spin yarn on a spinning wheel! I can usually be found on Monday and Tuesday at pick-up time in the undercover area of the main building. Please feel free to come and chat anytime!

Alice has been a member of the school community since 2019. Alice has one child at the school now with Remy in grade 4, Unit MJM. As a new member of school council this year she’s keen to learn more about how to contribute to making our school community the best place of learning for our kids. You can usually find Alice at school on a Wednesday or Friday afternoon.
