Physical Education

Hi Families,

Welcome back to term 3, another jam packed PE and Sport calendar.

Term 3 Dates for the calendar:

Monday 10th August - EMR Netball (year 6 student team)

Tuesday 11th August - Year 4 Basketball Day

Monday 7th September - District Athletics Day (students selected for SJV team)

We have had a lot going on in Sport since the start of term

Division Netball 🏐

On Monday, week 3, 9 students from year 5 and 6 went to Richmond for divisional netball. It was a great day of sportsmanship and skills being shown. We played 3 games before being able to play in the finals, where we won the finals and now we get to continue on to Regionals at Waverly. We are very excited for the next stage and are looking forward to playing more netball and representing our school with pride.

District Basketball 🏀

On the 17th of July all year fives and year sixes competed in district hooptime. Nine year sixes made the all  star team and won every game by 20+ points and lost one of the games, but we beat that same team in the grand final by 13 points which was Kerrimuir primary school. We are happy we made it through but we will try our hardest and win every game.

Division AFL 🏉

On the 29th of July, Wednesday some of the year 6 boys went to the Division of the  AFL 9’s. There were four teams in the division and we won 2 games, lost 1 and won the 3rd vs 4th place game against St. Francis Xavier. We played well and we beat the team that won it but didn't make the final because of the percentage. Even though we did not make it to regional we still had fun and proudly represented our school in footy and to other schools.

Year 4-6 House Athletics Trials

Was so great to see so many of the year 4-6 students participate in our Athletics Day on Friday! Many students competing in lots of different events for the first time or perhaps just on a yearly basis and many that have done it all before.  A big thank you to our parents Clem and Vanessa for assisting us on the day, your assistance really helped make the day run that bit smoother.  Thank you to the teachers for assisting in the various events and rotations on the day also.

Congratulations to Dillon who won the overall house points for the day with 410 points! It was a great effort by all with Lyons coming in 4th with 219 points, Durkin 311, Coghlan 385

This day helps me put together a District Athletics Team, this takes a little time sifting through as students are only able to be in a maximum of 2 events plus a relay and some students were successful in many events.

Our District day is scheduled for Monday 7th September.

Stay safe, keep active
