A Friendly Reminder: Reporting Student Absences on Compass

Helping Us Keep Accurate Attendance Records

Dear Parents and Carers,

If your child is going to be absent from school, please remember to enter their absence through Compass as soon as possible.

✅ Reporting absences promptly helps us:

• Maintain accurate attendance records
• Ensure student safety and wellbeing
• Reduce the need for follow-up phone calls and messages
• Meet Department attendance requirements

When an absence has not been explained, our office team spends valuable time contacting families to confirm a student's whereabouts. By entering your child's absence directly into Compass, you help us keep our records up to date and allow staff to focus on supporting students.

How to Report an Absence

📱 Compass App

1. Open Compass.
2. Select your child.
3. Tap Add Attendance Note.
4. Enter the absence details and submit.

💻 Compass Portal

1. Log in to Compass.
2. Select your child.
3. Click Add Attendance Note.
4. Enter the reason and dates of absence.
