Dear Families,

Today I was lucky to interview for the substantive principal role here at OPS. The process has been a wonderful opportunity to reflect on my time here as part of such a wonderful community but to also look towards the future and plan for enhanced connection, outcomes and excellence for all. The community will be made aware of the outcome next week.

 

I am very excited to announce that our application to the Inclusion Support Initiative has been successful, and we have been accepted to have an Inclusion Outreach Coach at Ormond Primary starting next term. This initiative supports us to build inclusive capabilities and practices at all levels of our school and community through having a coach with us 1 day per week for 6 months. Having the resourcing and expertise is a huge boost for us to continue to build a culture and community of school wide positive behaviours. I am meeting with our coach next week and I look forward to further detailing what this means for us at OPS.

 

Our community is growing - we have 7 new students starting next term! We are committed to continuing to foster our strong connected community with our new families. Steps towards this will be making families aware via Compass that a new student has started as well as connecting families to their class parent representative.

TheirCare

Our School Council and TheirCare have been working closely to enhance the provision of before- and after-school care, as well as holiday program services, for our community. We are very pleased with TheirCare’s responsiveness, their willingness to listen, and their collaborative approach in making prompt improvements to the service.

Hoodies

We have re-stocked with a few units of sizes of 8, 10 and 12. Another bigger delivery will arrive in 1-2 weeks.
