WELLBEING UPDATE: HEALTH AND HUMAN DEVELOPMENT

Talking the Talk Virtual Classroom and Parent Resource Platform

Parents and caregivers play the primary role in their children's relationships and sexuality education. Research shows that when this is supported by complimentary age-appropriate education at school, children are healthier, safer, and have better overall wellbeing.

A big thank-you to all the parents and guardians who were able to join us for Monday’s parent information session with Vanessa Hamilton from Talking the Talk. We recognise and respect your family’s role in teaching sexuality education and hope this presentation, along with our classroom-based Health and Human Development lessons, support and facilitate further conversations at home.

If you were unable to join us, there is information below about how you can access a recording of Vanessa delivering a more generic parent session, along with links to useful resources.

At Bell Primary we have a strong commitment to inclusive and protective education for every child. We utilise the Virtual Classroom by Talking the Talk to ensure we are delivering evidence-based, trauma-informed, and age- and stage-appropriate Healthy Sexuality Education. This program is guided by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Victorian Child Safe Standards, National Child Safe Principals, State and National Curriculum requirements.
