What is happening in Correa

This term we have had a focus on supporting identity, learning about emotions and emotional regulation. We provide sensory activities such as playdough, sand and water play every day and provide a balance of active and passive play.  We read books about our feelings and ways to manage them at kinder.

We have also been practicing breathing techniques. So far, the children have learnt 5 finger breathing, rainbow breathing and smell flower/blow out candle breathing. We have also taught the children a finger tapping game and encouraged the children to use it in bed at night or when driving in the car. All of these skills can be useful for children to support self regulation.
