Prep News

Hello Prep Families,
What a productive Week 7 we have had. I would like to give a special shout-out to the Preps who had a CRT on Tuesday. They were commended on how settled and hardworking they were so early in the year. You should all feel very proud.
Little Learners Love Literacy
This week in literacy, we met Milo’s friends Ben the Bear and Harry the Hippo. We identified the first sound in Ben’s name as /b/ and the first sound in Harry’s name as /h/. These are our first Stage 2 sounds.
Maths
This week, we played Tower Bingo. We had lots of fun rolling ten-sided dice and building towers with that many blocks. The first person to get three in a row on their board won the game.
Inquiry
This week we learnt about active listening and why it is important both in the classroom and when being a good friend. We made some fun “super listening ears” and even sang our active listening song while wearing them. Watch below!
Ask your child if they can show you what good listening looks like.
Buddies
We wish our buddies all the best with their NAPLAN over the next two weeks. We look forward to catching up with them again afterwards.
Friendly reminders
Make sure your child’s name is on every piece of clothing so items can be returned to the rightful owner.
Fill in your child’s reader each night with the decodable book that was read. This helps me keep track of student progress.
Readers and homework are due on Fridays.
Warm regards,
Felicity Jenkins
