CONTINUOUS REPORTING
At Greenhills, we provide a formal Semester Report at the end of each semester. This report provides an overall view of your child’s progress against the curriculum. It also includes a written comment from the teacher.
In addition to the semester reports, teachers also upload a variety of “Continuous Reporting” assessments to Compass throughout the year. These appear in the “Learning Tasks” section of Compass.
Continuous Reporting provides families with more specific and timely information about the learning that students are currently exploring, what they are able to demonstrate and what the next steps in their learning.
Teachers work collaboratively to develop a rubric that shows the skills that are being assessed, as well as the progression of those skills from Establishing through to Mastery.
This is the second year we have used Compass to deliver our learning tasks and we are constantly refining our process to ensure:
● Rubrics clearly state the child’s progress and the next stage in their learning
● Tasks are uploaded in a timely manner to minimise the time between the student completing the work and families receiving the assessment
● Students are involved in the feedback loop to ensure they know their next steps
● The actual task or student work is sent home on the day that the assessment is posted
The learning tasks are also collated in the Semester Reports, allowing you to view a variety of Continuous Reporting pieces in one place.
As we are still evolving our Continuous Reporting process, I would like to invite families to respond to this short survey to help us drive future improvements: Survey Link
