Japanese Day 2024

On Thursday, September 19th, Kingswood Primary School celebrated Japanese Day, an exciting event filled with cultural activities that immersed students in the rich traditions of Japan.

The day kicked off with a lively comedy session by Showko, a talented Rakugo performer who kept everyone entertained with her clever storytelling and humour.

Students also participated in Japanese traditional drum and flute performances by the skilled duo: Toshi and Ann. The students enjoyed listening and playing in the Japanese music sessions.

In addition to these performances, students engaged in a variety of Japanese art activities with their classroom teachers. They demonstrated their creativity by making beautiful Japanese fans, crafting 3D koi fish, trying their hand at Gyotaku fish printing and painting iconic Japanese symbols. Each artwork reflected the students' enthusiasm and growing appreciation for Japanese culture.

The day was a wonderful way to celebrate our ongoing journey of learning Japanese at Kingswood Primary School. It provided students with the opportunity to experience Japanese culture firsthand and deepen their understanding of the language and customs in a fun, interactive way.
