Dear parents and carers,
Believe it or not, Term One comes to a close today.
It’s been pleasing to see our students and teachers establish their learning routines and build their knowledge and understanding across the term. A plethora of extra-curricular opportunities has continued to allow students to discover and further their passions across all areas of learning. Running club and breakfast club have been well attended, we have enjoyed hearing our band and choir rehearse and perform, and our various lunchtime clubs have seen record attendance school-wide. We look forward to these opportunities - and more - continuing throughout the year.
Staff Movement
Jacqui Bladier commences family leave today. We look forward to hearing of the arrival of her baby and seeing a photo or two. Thanks to Jacqui for her work in 3J over Term One. You have set them up for success for the rest of 2026, and we look forward to Neva Hamlin joining the team to teach 3J for the remainder of the year.
Sophie Conway, one of our Inclusion Education Support staff members, finishes with us today. Sophie will be commencing her career as a Protective Services Officer. Sophie joined our team in 2022 and has worked across various year levels during her time with us. Thank you Sophie for the strong, supportive relationships you have formed with students, allowing them to challenge themselves and engage with their learning. We look forward to hearing of your future success.
House Athletics
We had a fantastic day at Dolamore Oval on Monday, where our Year 4-6 students showcased great character and spirit during our annual House Athletics. From friendly rivalries to celebratory handshakes, it was wonderful to see each child strive for their personal best and end the day with a smile.

Thank you to the students, staff and our wonderful community volunteers for making it all possible. Shout out to our eight student helpers from Mordialloc College (Lily, Amelia, Augie, Emily N, Ava, Emily S, Euan, Owen and Molly), you were terrific and represented your school well. Finally, thanks to Katie Scott for her organisation and coordination of our successful event.
Continuous Reports
Our first round of continuous reports were published via the Compass Parent Portal yesterday. To ensure families receive consistent insights into student achievement, we provide seven rounds of continuous reporting annually across English, Mathematics, and Units of Inquiry. Twice a year, these snapshots are further supported with a child’s progression against the curriculum and personal learning comments.
Our intention with this form of reporting is to provide regular, timely updates on a child’s learning with their family. Thank you to our teaching staff for preparing this first round of continuous reports and to our parents and carers for engaging with them.
Good Friday Appeal
Thank you to our Student Representative Council (SRC) members for organising our annual Good Friday Appeal fundraiser. It was great fun wearing our pyjamas yesterday and we look forward to contributing the funds raised to the ongoing work at the Royal Children’s Hospital.

ANZAC Day
Our school has been invited to participate in the Longbeach RSL’s ANZAC Day service at 9:30 on the 25th April. Families who are interested in joining the march can meet me at the corner of Sherwood St and Station St between 9:10 and 9:30. I will email more information on the first day back of Term Two.
Our Community Leaders are supporting the ANZAC Appeal by selling badges and wristbands at the front of the school each morning and afternoon. This will continue in the first week back.
School Photos
A reminder that school photos will take place on Tuesday 21st April. I may see some of our students at the hairdressers over the holidays, making sure we look sharp for the photographers!
It was great fun to join our Foundation students for some Easter fun this morning. Over the holidays, I hope you have the opportunity to enjoy some fun, rest and recharge.
Thanks for your support across Term One,
Tom
