DIOCESAN TOUCH TRIALS 

Congratulations to all the students who trialled at the ACS Touch Football Trials in Inverell last Friday.  A particular mention must go to Hudson Y, Arthur B, Lucy S and Jessie G who made the ACS Touch Football team ready to Trial for the Polding Touch Football team at Port Macquarie  on 12 June 2026.

NETBALL 

The first round of netball begins on Saturday the 2nd May! Your coaches should have been in touch with you and some have even had some training sessions! You can find your court allocation, etc., on the Play HQ site, then type in Tamworth Netball Association. (https://www.playhq.com/netball-australia/org/tamworth-netball-association/71406c7e )

This year, there is something a little bit different. Tamworth Netball Association is holding an Opening Ceremony at 11am. St Nicholas Netball Club players (including Kinder Skills) will meet up on court 10 outside. We will all have something ‘extra’ green & gold like tutus/funny hats/wigs/headpieces etc and will march past (well- I prefer to dance past) to music. Mrs Elliott will have the school banner and posters for each team. 

We realise that families have other sports to attend with other children, so just do what you can do! 

ATHLETICS SESSIONS

We welcome back Mr Jay Stone to St Nicholas. He will be running sessions with classes, focusing on field events for the majority of Fridays this term. We are grateful for such expertise!

TAMWORTH OZTAG NEWS

Tamworth Oztag are running free 'Come and Try' sessions over the next month on Wednesday afternoons from 29 April - 27 May 2026!!!

These sessions are a great introduction to Oztag and are designed to help students learn basic skills in a fun and supportive environment.

The 2026 competition overview is also attached in case students missed registering and want to play in the Spring!

Just a reminder that the majority of sporting opportunities are only on the Compass Portal and hence, we strongly recommend that you check your Compass Portal on a regular basis.

WHAT'S YOUR SPORTING SUCCESS?

We love celebrating the achievements of our St Nicholas athletes. If your child or team has competed in a weekend game, gala day, or representative trial, we want to hear about it!

Please send all match reports, results, and photos for the newsletter to: sntsport@arm.catholic.edu.au by Monday close of business each fortnight (Weeks 2, 4, 6, 8 & 10).

• Details: Include the team name, score, and any standout moments.
